Watford General Hospital

We’re passionate about providing the best care for our patients. Our mortality rates are among the lowest in the country and we are the only hospital in England to offer enhanced recovery for spinal patients. In 2014, we won the NHS Employers' Compassion in Practice Award.

  • We believe in giving our staff a voice about how we continually improve our services.
  • We strive to make our hospitals a great place for our 4,500 staff and our volunteers to work.
  • We have a talented and committed team. Each month, we take time to recognise a member of staff who has gone the extra mile in our ‘Celebrating Excellence’ staff award.

Watford Football Club

The Trust and Westfield Academy have joined forces to create a Football & Education Academy. This exciting programme will give talented male players between the ages of 16-18 years old the chance to combine academic studies with practical football experience, designed to bridge the gap between grassroots and academy football. Players from the academy will train daily with UEFA qualified coaches and will play on a competitive basis in the National Football Youth League which is an experience similar to football academies nationwide. Players may progress into professional or semi-professional football following in the footsteps of many students in the past. In addition to the training, players will complete A-Levels or BTEC’s studies with the support and guidance of the highly skilled teaching staff at Westfield Academy. They offer a range of subjects to study alongside the football academy. All our students are also enrolled onto their FA Level 1 Coaching Award which can lead them into a career of coaching making them employable before they leave the programme.
